<p>Welcome to my Inn!  &#8212; err, kitchen. As many you may already know, I have a terrible and soul crushing obsession with Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. <em>I JUST CAN&#8217;T STOP, OK?</em></p>
<p>I&#8217;ve made a few Hearthstone in the past, such as <a href="http://www.eatgamelive.com/baked-goods/hearthscones-pear-scones-with-blueberry-preserves/">Hearthscones</a> and <a href="http://www.eatgamelive.com/hearthstone/the-polenta-coin-polenta-with-turkey-patties/">The Polenta Coin</a>, but it has been a while since my last Hearthstone recipe. But, I&#8217;m here to fix that because&#8230;</p>
<p><em>JUSTICE DEMANDS RAVIOLI</em>.</p>

<p>&#8230;I&#8217;ll see myself out.</p>
<p>This recipe is extra healthy as it combines whole wheat flour, lean turkey and Quest protein powder. We&#8217;re all &#8217;bout those GAINS!</p>
<p>Whole wheat causes the dough to be much more denser, so you will want to roll the pasta sheets as thin as possible.</p>
<p><strong>UNIT COMPOSITION</strong></p>

<ol>
<li>salt</li>
<li>pepper</li>
<li>1 1/2 scoops of <a href="http://www.questnutrition.com/protein-powders/multi-purpose-mix-2lb-canister/">Quest protein powder</a></li>
<li>1 cup of water</li>
<li>1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour</li>
<li>3 tablespoons of olive oil</li>
<li>2 sprigs of rosemary</li>
<li>6 cloves of garlic, sliced</li>
<li>1/2 onion, diced</li>
<li>3 eggs</li>
<li>1 cup of spinach</li>
<li>1 1/2 cups of ricotta cheese</li>
<li>1/4 lb of ground turkey</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>BUILD ORDER</strong></p>
<p>Prep time for this recipe is about <strong>40 minutes</strong>. Cook time is about <strong>25 minutes</strong>. This will make <strong>3 servings</strong> (3 large raviolis). There may be some left over filling.</p>
<p>Each serving will contain about ~<strong>22g </strong>of protein.</p>
<p><strong>OPENING</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Place your whole wheat flour and  1 scoop of protein powder on a flat and flour-dusted surface.</li>
<li>Make an indent and crack your eggs. Using a fork, mix the eggs. Once the eggs have been mixed, add in the water and begin slowly incorporating the flour into the liquid to create the dough.<br />

<li>Fold the dough in on itself until you can create a large dough ball. Cover the dough with a slightly damp towel. Allow the dough to rest for about 30 minutes. During this time, prepare the turkey filling.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>MID GAME</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Set a large skillet on high heat. Add in 1 tablespoon of olive oil.</li>
<li>Saute 2 cloves of garlic and your chopped onion.</li>
<li>Add in your ground turkey. Season with salt and pepper.</li>
<li>Add in your spinach.</li>
<li>Once the turkey has cooked, remove it from the heat and place in a large bowl. Allow the mix to cool for about 10 minutes.</li>
<li>Add in your ricotta cheese and remaining protein powder. Stir to combine thoroughly. <img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2759" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/blog_wellplayedravioli_mix.jpg" alt="blog_wellplayedravioli_mix" width="800" height="600" /></li>
</ol>
<p><strong>LATE GAME</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>To prepare your pasta sheets, break your dough into four sections. Using a rolling pin (dusted with flour), roll your dough sections into sheets small enough to fit through your pasta machine. Dust your pasta machine with flour. You will want your pasta rolled out on the thinnest setting possible.</li>
<li>Once your pasta has rolled out, cut out circles (I used a 4&#8243; cookie cutter).</li>
<li>Cut out 4 long triangles and 4 short triangles. This is to create the points of the Hearthstone star.</li>
<li>Place the triangles in alternating fashion on top of a circle. Place about a tablespoon of filling in the center of the circle.</li>
<li>Place another circle of dough over the filling and crimp the edges together. Create the Hearthstone logo using a thin strand of dough.</li>
<li>Set a pot of water to boil and season with salt. Cook your raviolis for about 5 minutes and remove.</li>
<li>While your raviolis are cooking, prepare your sauce by combining your remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil, garlic and rosemary in a hot pan. Allow the garlic to brown. Remove from heat and set aside.<br />

<li>Plate your ravioli. Then, drizzle your rosemary olive oil sauce over the ravioli. Make sure to place some toasted garlic over the ravioli.</li>
<li>Garnish your plate with rosemary sprigs.</li>
<li>Eat!</li>

<p>The weeks after I came back from BlizzCon I received some news from the doctor, in other words, I need to start eating healthier. So in this venture, I have been cooking at home a lot more and finding different ways to make some of my favorite food to fuel up into between work and gaming. I was inspired by a dish I had one time at <span style="color: #3366ff;"><a style="color: #3366ff;" href="http://www.waterburyreservoir.com/">The Reservoir &#8211; Restaurant and Tap Room &#8211; Waterbury</a></span>.</p>
<p>There are some things you can do ahead of ahead to cut on the actual time from cooking to eating when you go to fry your fish and assemble your tacos. I recommend making the pickled jalapeños and the cilantro onion salsa the day before as it keeps for at about a week. Also, I do want to recommend, that when you slice the jalapeños you buy some cheap plastic gloves, powder free, to protect your hands.</p>

<p>Total prep time for this dish is about <strong>1 hour</strong>. Cook time is <strong>40 minutes</strong>. This recipe will make roughly about 16 tacos. You will end up with leftover condiments!<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>OPENING HAND</strong></p>

<p><strong>EARLY GAME</strong></p>
<p><strong>Ingredients</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>3/4 cup water</li>
<li>3/4 cup distilled white vinegar</li>
<li>3 tablespoons white sugar</li>
<li>1 tablespoon kosher salt</li>
<li>1 clove garlic, crushed</li>
<li>1/2 teaspoon oregano</li>
<li>10 large jalapeno peppers, sliced into rings</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Directions (Pickled Jalapeño) </strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Combine water, vinegar, sugar, kosher salt, garlic, and oregano in a saucepan over high heat. Bring mixture to a boil, stir in jalapeno peppers and remove from heat. Let mixture cool for 10 minutes.</li>
<li>Pack peppers into jars using tongs, cover with vinegar mixture, cover, and refrigerate until needed.</li>

<li>1 large red onion, thinly sliced</li>
<li>1/4 cup fresh lime juice</li>
<li>2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro</li>
<li>2 teaspoons olive oil</li>
<li>1/2 teaspoon dried oregano</li>
<li>1/2 teaspoon salt</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Directions (Cilantro Onion Salsa)</strong></p>
<p>Chop everything, juice your lime, and place all the mixture into a mason jar and pop it in the fridge.</p>

<li>1 liter vegetable or sunflower oil</li>
<li>1 pound haddock or cod</li>
<li>Red cabbage, sliced</li>
<li>16 corn tortillas</li>
<li>Kosher salt</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>LATE GAME</strong></p>
<p><strong>Directions (Fish &amp; Assemble)</strong></p>
<ol>

<li>Heat oil in a cast iron Dutch oven to 375 degrees</li>
<li>Combine seltzer, egg, and vodka in a bowl</li>
<li>Combine rice flour and cake flour in a separate bowl</li>
<li>When your oil reaches temperature, add the wet to the dry ingredients and whisk to combine and surround that bowl with ice on the outside to keep the batter cold<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2440" src="https://kierpanda.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/blog_murlocostacos_batter.jpg" alt="blog_murlocostacos_batter" width="670" height="833" /></li>
<li>Dip your fish into your batter, shaken off excess, and slowly place into the oil about four pieces at a time</li>
<li>Cook for about two minutes until golden brown and remove from heat</li>

<p>About a month ago, I got into the Hearthstone beta and subsequently spent all the moneys on desperately trying to get amazing cards. At the time, I was building a rogue deck, and anything non-rogue was immediately disenchanted. <em>NEVER GONNA PLAY A WARLOCK ANYWAY I GUESS.</em></p>

<p style="text-align:center;"><em>This is our town, scrub.</em></p>
<p>Eventually, I collected and crafted enough cards to build my rogue deck and jumped into ranked play. However, climbing the ladder to Masters 3 was increasingly difficult!</p>
<p>I started messing around with a combo spell deck that relied heavily on setting up your spell damage minions and using headcrack/eviscerate. However, the meta shifted and people on the ladder expected this, so they would kill my minions ASAP&#8230; Especially my ringleader. <i>This was clearly not our town, scrub.</i></p>
<p>Since it was all about control, I decided to try a rogue control deck. All them weapons! It worked for a while, but I got stuck in Masters 2. Then, I tried the <a href="http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/307-miracle-rogue">Miracle Rogue</a> deck. When it worked, damn, it worked&#8230; But most of the time, I would basically die before I got a chance to set up anything.</p>
<p>So, I did some research and crosschecked my decklist with the winning decklists from the <a href="http://www.managrind.com/">ManaGrind</a> tournament. I decided to go with a deck that had a lot of draw power and value minions, such as the Argent Commander. Well, it worked and I broke into Masters 3. Yippie! Plus, I got to keep my Defias Ringleaders. <em>Yeah, beat it.</em></p>
<p>After getting comfortable with the card attributes and some strategies, I decided to take a stab at Arena.<em> I got my butt kicked so much. </em>Losing definitely sucks, especially when you basically throw the game because you played the cards in the wrong order or because you miscalculated how much damage you could&#8217;ve done that turn. I&#8217;ve definitely lost a lot of games because I miscalculated the amount of mana I had. <em>Yes, I can totally use 2 of these 6 mana cost cards this turn. Wait a minute&#8230;Crap.</em><em><br />
</em></p>
<p>People are frighteningly good in arena, too. So when you make mistakes, it hurts a lot!<br />
The people who play arena know which cards to draft, which cards synergize, and when to use those cards. It&#8217;s like they KNOW when I have a flamestrike in my hand so they don&#8217;t play extra minions before my turn 7. <p style="text-align:left;">The interesting thing about arena is that you also get a chance to test your skills with other classes. I don&#8217;t have enough cards to complete decks for all nine classes, but, it&#8217;s nice to take a break from rogue and mess around in arena with a mage or a druid.</p>

<p>Because of my new-found <del>crippling addiction to</del> love of all that is Hearthstone, I&#8217;ve decided to immortalize it into baked goods. And thus, <em>Hearthscones</em> were created!</p>

<p style="text-align:left;"><em>WELL MET!</em></p>
<p><b>UNIT COMPOSITION</b></p>

<li>1 pinch of salt</li>
<li>2 teaspoons of baking powder</li>
<li>4 tablespoons of butter, cut into small pieces</li>
<li>1 ¾ cup of flour*</li>
<li>¾ cup of sugar</li>
<li>½ cup of whole milk</li>
<li>1 bartlett pear, chopped</li>
<li>½ cup of blueberry preserves</li>
<li style="text-align:left;">1 egg (this is for an egg wash)</li>
</ol>
<p>*if the dough comes out too mushy during mixing, you may need to gently fold in additional flour just to fix the consistency. I recommend adding them in 1/4 cup intervals.</p>
<p><strong>BUILD ORDER</strong></p>
<p>Total prep time is roughly <strong>30 minutes</strong>. Cook time is about <strong>16 minutes</strong>. This will make <strong>6 scones</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>OPENING</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Combine flour, baking powder, salt in a large bowl.</li>
<li>Add in your butter. Squish the butter between your fingers in the flour. Keep doing this until the flour has somewhat of a bread-crumb like consistency.<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1873" src="http://kierpanda.files.wordpress.com/2013/11/blog_hearthscones_flour.png" alt="blog_hearthscones_flour" width="560" height="386" /></li>
<li>Add in your sugar and gently combine with the dough.</li>
<li>Slowly pour in your milk and making cutting motions through the dough with a spoon to combine. You do not want to over mix the dough at this point.</li>
<li>Add in your chopped pear. Gently fold the dough until the pears have all combined.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>MID GAME</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Pre-heat your oven to 375° F.</li>
<li>Put the dough on a clean, floured surface. You’ll want to use a rolling pin in order to get the dough to the same size (~1.5 inches). <li>Place the dough circles on a baking dish lined with parchment paper.</li>

<p><strong>LATE GAME</strong></p>

<li>Scramble your egg and gently brush the egg over each dough circle. This will help the scones brown.</li>

<li>Bake the scones for about 16 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.</li>
