<p>If you&#8217;ve been following me on Twitter, you would know that I am incredibly obsessed with <a href="http://stardewvalley.net/">Stardew Valley</a>. If you&#8217;re not familiar with it, it&#8217;s basically an RPG where you farm to your heart&#8217;s content, stab monsters, and <del>stalk</del> romance your village love-interest.</p>
<p>The game has a lot of features, but I definitely enjoyed fishing and <del>stalking</del> romancing the most. I actually documented my whole spaghetti-based romance saga on Twitter because I&#8217;m not insane at all. But, I&#8217;ll save that entire story for another recipe&#8230;</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">WAKE UP NERD. I BROUGHT YOU SOME SPAGHETTI. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/stardewvalley?src=hash">#stardewvalley</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/seducehimwithspaghetti?src=hash">#seducehimwithspaghetti</a> <a href="https://t.co/Z4iM8UWTbE">pic.twitter.com/Z4iM8UWTbE</a></p>

<p><script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><i>This is completely normal behavior!</i></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">But honestly, the greatest thing to me is cooking. If a game has cooking in it, I get pretty hyped. One of the recipes that caught my eye was <em>Dish O&#8217; The Sea</em>. It just sounded so tasty, so I just had to make it!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4398" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/blog_dishothesea_ingame.jpg" alt="blog_dishothesea_ingame" width="800" height="450" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><i>Are you staring at a TV again, Seb? It&#8217;s lunch time, dude.</i></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The original recipe calls for just sardines and hash browns, however, the art seems to have more on the plate than just that. I assumed that this dish would also feature kale and tomatoes since both of those things are crops that can be grown on your farm. <img src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/simple-smile.png" alt=":)" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4407" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/blog_dishothesea_done2.jpg" alt="blog_dishothesea_done2" width="800" height="600" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I&#8217;ve gone ahead and made some slight adjustments to the original three-ingredient recipe for this real-world adaption. <img src="http://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/72x72/1f600.png" alt="😀" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /></p>
<p><strong>UNIT COMPOSITION</strong></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4400" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/blog_dishothesea_ingredients.jpg" alt="blog_dishothesea_ingredients" width="800" height="600" /></p>
<ol>
<li>salt</li>
<li>pepper</li>
<li>(optional) parsley</li>
<li>3 cloves of garlic, chopped</li>
<li>2 tablespoons of olive oil</li>
<li>juice from 1 lemon</li>
<li>cherry tomatoes</li>
<li>4 sardines, gutted and de-boned (hopefully your fish prepping skills are better than mine!)</li>
<li>1 potato, peeled</li>
<li>4 leaves of kale, stem removed</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>BUILD ORDER</strong></p>
<p>Prep time for this meal is about<strong> 30 minutes</strong>. Cook time is about<strong> 25 minutes</strong>. This makes 2 servings.</p>
<p><strong>OPENING</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Take your potato and grate it.<br />
<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4404" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/blog_dishothesea_potato.jpg" alt="blog_dishothesea_potato" width="800" height="600" /></li>
<li>Fill a bowl with cold water and place the grated potato into the water. This will draw out some of the starch.</li>
<li>Let the potatoes sit in the water for about 15 minutes. Drain the water and squeeze any excess water out of the potatoes. Allow it to dry on a paper towel.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>MID GAME</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Heat a pan on medium heat. Add in 1 tablespoon of olive oil.</li>
<li>Take one half of your grated potatoes and place them in the pan. Squish down the pile of potatoes to form your hash browns. Season with salt and pepper. Let cook for ~5 minutes and then flip and cook for another 5 minutes, or until golden brown. Repeat this step for your remaining potatoes.</li>
<li>While your hash browns cook, steam your kale and cherry tomatoes. You can either do this over boiling water, or using a microwave steamer (which I used). Season your kale with salt, pepper and 1/2 juice of lemon once done.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>LATE GAME</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Using a damp towel, wipe away any access hash browns from the pan.</li>
<li>Set the pan on medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil.</li>
<li>When the pan comes to heat, add in your chopped garlic and saute.</li>
<li>Season your sardines with salt and pepper.</li>
<li>Add in your sardines. Allow them to cook for about 2.5 minutes on each side.<br />
<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4405" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/blog_dishothesea_sardines.jpg" alt="blog_dishothesea_sardines" width="800" height="600" /></li>
<li>Add in the remaining 1/2 lemon juice to your pan.</li>
<li>Remove the sardines from the heat and begin plating your dish.</li>
<li>(OPTIONAL): Sprinkle chopped parsley over your fish.</li>
<li>Eat!</li>
</ol>
<p>GG WP, farmer! <img src="http://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/72x72/1f600.png" alt="😀" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-4408" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/blog_dishothesea_done.jpg" alt="blog_dishothesea_done" width="800" height="600" /></p>
<p>Now you have a delicious meal that will get you prepared for a day&#8217;s worth of fishing! Hooray!</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve been wanting to make Gorgrond Chowder for a while&#8230; So I finally had a chance to sit down and hammer out the recipe. I wanted to do it right, so was a lot of research involved. There&#8217;s something very special about enjoying a creamy seafood soup in a toasty sour dough bread bowl on a chilly day.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a hearty soup, and it has to be since Gorgrond is a pretty rough neighborhood.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3666" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/blog_gorgrondchowder_screen.jpg" alt="blog_gorgrondchowder_screen" width="800" height="507" /></p>
<p><em>GUYS&#8230;GUYS WE CAN TALK THIS OUT. MAYBE OVER A BOWL OF CHOWDER?</em></p>
<p>You could probably make this meal while doing runs of Blackrock! Just don&#8217;t die and upset just don&#8217;t upset your raid lead.</p>
<p><strong>UNIT COMPOSITION</strong></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3657" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/blog_gorgrondchowder_ingredients.jpg" alt="blog_gorgrondchowder_ingredients" width="800" height="583" /></p>
<ol>
<li>salt</li>
<li>1 tablespoon of olive oil</li>
<li>1 cup of water</li>
<li>2 cups of fish stock</li>
<li>3 cups of milk</li>
<li>1/2 onion, chopped</li>
<li>1/2 lb of carrots, chopped</li>
<li>1/2 lb of celery, chopped</li>
<li>1/2 lb of red potatoes</li>
<li>1/2 lb of italian sausage</li>
<li>1 lb of cod, chopped</li>
<li>OPTIONAL: 1/2 lb sour dough bread rounds</li>
<li>OPTIONAL: parsley</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>BUILD ORDER</strong></p>
<p>Total prep time for this dish is about <strong>20 minutes</strong>. Total cook time is about<strong> 35</strong> <strong>minutes</strong>. This makes about<strong> 6 servings</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>OPENING</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Set a large pot on high heat. Add your tablespoon of olive oil.</li>
<li>Cook your Italian sausage until golden brown (roughly 5 &#8211; 7 minutes).</li>
<li>Remove from the pot and set aside.</li>
<li>Add in your chopped onions, celery, and carrots. This blend of ingredients is called a <i>mirepoix.</i><br />
<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3659" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/blog_gorgrondchowder_mirepoix.jpg" alt="blog_gorgrondchowder_mirepoix" width="800" height="600" /></li>
<li>Reduce the heat to medium and allow the mirepoix to sweat. Stir it occasionally to prevent it from burning.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>MID GAME</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Slice the Italian sausage and re-introduce it into the pot. Make sure you pour in any juices left over from the sausage.</li>
<li>Bring the heat back up to high.</li>
<li>Add in your fish stock, water and potatoes. Allow to cook for about 10 minutes or until the potatoes are soft.<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3660" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/blog_gorgrondchowder_cooking.jpg" alt="blog_gorgrondchowder_cooking" width="800" height="600" /></li>
</ol>
<p><strong>LATE GAME</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Add in your chopped cod.</li>
<li>Reduce the heat to medium and pour in your milk.</li>
<li>Allow the cod to cook for another 10 minutes, stirring often.<br />
<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3661" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/blog_gorgrondchowder_cooking2.jpg" alt="blog_gorgrondchowder_cooking2" width="800" height="600" /></li>
<li>OPTIONAL: to make a bread bowl, cut off the top of the round of bread and scoop the insides out.</li>
<li>OPTIONAL: garnish with parsley</li>
<li>Eat!</li>
</ol>
<p>GG WP!</p>
<p>Now, the bread bowl is totally optional. You can serve this chowder in a bowl if you&#8217;d like!</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3667" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/blog_gorgrondchowder_bowl.jpg" alt="blog_gorgrondchowder_bowl" width="800" height="601" /></p>
<p>As always, I try to replicate the in-game appearance. Here&#8217;s what it looks like in-game:</p>
<p><img class=" size-full wp-image-3664 aligncenter" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/blog_grogrondchowder_ingame.jpg" alt="blog_grogrondchowder_ingame" width="295" height="217" /></p>
<p>And here&#8217;s how it turned out with the bread bowl:</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3663" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/blog_gorgrondchowder_done.jpg" alt="blog_gorgrondchowder_done" width="800" height="600" /></p>
<p>Close, I think!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/blog_gorgrondchowder_breadbowl.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3662" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/blog_gorgrondchowder_breadbowl.jpg" alt="blog_gorgrondchowder_breadbowl" width="800" height="579" /></a></p>
<p><em>Yessss&#8230;.</em></p>

<p>Welcome to my Inn!  &#8212; err, kitchen. As many you may already know, I have a terrible and soul crushing obsession with Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. <em>I JUST CAN&#8217;T STOP, OK?</em></p>
<p>I&#8217;ve made a few Hearthstone in the past, such as <a href="http://www.eatgamelive.com/baked-goods/hearthscones-pear-scones-with-blueberry-preserves/">Hearthscones</a> and <a href="http://www.eatgamelive.com/hearthstone/the-polenta-coin-polenta-with-turkey-patties/">The Polenta Coin</a>, but it has been a while since my last Hearthstone recipe. But, I&#8217;m here to fix that because&#8230;</p>
<p><em>JUSTICE DEMANDS RAVIOLI</em>.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2754" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/blog_wellplayedravioli_uther.jpg" alt="blog_wellplayedravioli_uther" width="700" height="386" /></p>
<p>&#8230;I&#8217;ll see myself out.</p>
<p>This recipe is extra healthy as it combines whole wheat flour, lean turkey and Quest protein powder. We&#8217;re all &#8217;bout those GAINS!</p>
<p>Whole wheat causes the dough to be much more denser, so you will want to roll the pasta sheets as thin as possible.</p>
<p><strong>UNIT COMPOSITION</strong></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2749" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/blog_hearthstoneravioli_ingredients.jpg" alt="blog_hearthstoneravioli_ingredients" width="600" height="800" /></p>
<ol>
<li>salt</li>
<li>pepper</li>
<li>1 1/2 scoops of <a href="http://www.questnutrition.com/protein-powders/multi-purpose-mix-2lb-canister/">Quest protein powder</a></li>
<li>1 cup of water</li>
<li>1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour</li>
<li>3 tablespoons of olive oil</li>
<li>2 sprigs of rosemary</li>
<li>6 cloves of garlic, sliced</li>
<li>1/2 onion, diced</li>
<li>3 eggs</li>
<li>1 cup of spinach</li>
<li>1 1/2 cups of ricotta cheese</li>
<li>1/4 lb of ground turkey</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>BUILD ORDER</strong></p>
<p>Prep time for this recipe is about <strong>40 minutes</strong>. Cook time is about <strong>25 minutes</strong>. This will make <strong>3 servings</strong> (3 large raviolis). There may be some left over filling.</p>
<p>Each serving will contain about ~<strong>22g </strong>of protein.</p>
<p><strong>OPENING</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Place your whole wheat flour and  1 scoop of protein powder on a flat and flour-dusted surface.</li>
<li>Make an indent and crack your eggs. Using a fork, mix the eggs. Once the eggs have been mixed, add in the water and begin slowly incorporating the flour into the liquid to create the dough.<br />
<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2760" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/blog_wellplayedravioli_dough.jpg" alt="blog_wellplayedravioli_dough" width="800" height="522" /></li>
<li>Fold the dough in on itself until you can create a large dough ball. Cover the dough with a slightly damp towel. Allow the dough to rest for about 30 minutes. During this time, prepare the turkey filling.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>MID GAME</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Set a large skillet on high heat. Add in 1 tablespoon of olive oil.</li>
<li>Saute 2 cloves of garlic and your chopped onion.</li>
<li>Add in your ground turkey. Season with salt and pepper.</li>
<li>Add in your spinach.</li>
<li>Once the turkey has cooked, remove it from the heat and place in a large bowl. Allow the mix to cool for about 10 minutes.</li>
<li>Add in your ricotta cheese and remaining protein powder. Stir to combine thoroughly. <img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2759" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/blog_wellplayedravioli_mix.jpg" alt="blog_wellplayedravioli_mix" width="800" height="600" /></li>
</ol>
<p><strong>LATE GAME</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>To prepare your pasta sheets, break your dough into four sections. Using a rolling pin (dusted with flour), roll your dough sections into sheets small enough to fit through your pasta machine. Dust your pasta machine with flour. You will want your pasta rolled out on the thinnest setting possible.</li>
<li>Once your pasta has rolled out, cut out circles (I used a 4&#8243; cookie cutter).</li>
<li>Cut out 4 long triangles and 4 short triangles. This is to create the points of the Hearthstone star.</li>
<li>Place the triangles in alternating fashion on top of a circle. Place about a tablespoon of filling in the center of the circle.</li>
<li>Place another circle of dough over the filling and crimp the edges together. Create the Hearthstone logo using a thin strand of dough.</li>
<li>Set a pot of water to boil and season with salt. Cook your raviolis for about 5 minutes and remove.</li>
<li>While your raviolis are cooking, prepare your sauce by combining your remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil, garlic and rosemary in a hot pan. Allow the garlic to brown. Remove from heat and set aside.<br />
<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2762" src="http://www.eatgamelive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/blog_wellplayedravioli_sauce.jpg" alt="blog_wellplayedravioli_sauce" width="800" height="460" /></li>
<li>Plate your ravioli. Then, drizzle your rosemary olive oil sauce over the ravioli. Make sure to place some toasted garlic over the ravioli.</li>
<li>Garnish your plate with rosemary sprigs.</li>
<li>Eat!</li>
</ol>
