Living the life of a farmer in Stardew Valley must be incredibly difficult. You started out working a 9 to 5 job at Joja Corp and suddenly, you ditch everything to start a brand new life in this quaint little town.

I personally struggled my first few days of being a fresh new farmer. I spent a lot of days chopping down trees in my yard and wandering aimlessly through the valley. I would pick up random things and eat them or throw them into my hastily made wooden chest. Eventually, I picked up enough random things to reach Forager level 2. At the time, I had no idea what the heck that meant, I just knew that I magically learned how to make a burger because of it. Hype!

Once I got my farm going, I started making Survival Burgers all the time. It eventually replaced my old staple food of Fried Eggs.

HOORAY BURGER

I personally like to enjoy my delicious burger in the depths of the mines:

Hey skeleton bro, do you want a bite or nah?

Since the Survival Burger has become such a necessary part of my adventuring routine, I had to recreate it in real life.

The actual ingredients to the recipe are incredibly simple: “bread”, “cave carrot” and “eggplant”. Easy! …sort of. I didn’t know what the heck a cave carrot was, so I got the next best thing: Rainbow Carrots!

UNIT COMPOSITION

salt

pepper

3 – 4 sprigs of fresh tarragon (dried OK too!)

3 cloves of garlic

1 shallot, diced

2 tablespoons of dijon mustard

1/2 cup of mayonnaise

1/2 eggplant, chopped

2 rainbow carrots (preferably in purple or yellow), chopped

1 tomato

green leaf lettuce

hamburger buns

BUILD ORDER

This recipe takes about 20 minutes to prep. Cook time is about 35 minutes. This makes 4 servings.

OPENING

In a food processor, combine your garlic, shallots and 2 chopped carrots.

Add in your chopped egg plant and process. Season with salt and pepper. Remove your mixture from the food processor. The mixture will be fairly watery due to the water content of the carrots and eggplant.

Line a baking dish with parchment paper. Divide your mixture into 4 sections. Form each section into a patty and place it on the baking dish. You may want to smooth out the patties with a butter knife.

Preheat your oven to 375°. Bake the patties for about 35 minutes or until golden brown.

MID GAME

While the patties are baking, create your tarragon mayonnaise. Remove the stems from the tarragon and roughly chop the leaves.

In a bowl, combine your dijon mustard with your mayonnaise.

Stir in your tarragon and season with a little salt.

LATE GAME

Assemble your burger! Place one lettuce leaf on the bottom portion of the hamburger bun.

Place your veggie patty on top of the lettuce leaf.

Place a generous amount of tarragon mayonnaise on top of the patty.

Top that with a tomato slice and then the top of the bun.

Eat!

Hooray, and now you’re done! GG WP, Farmer.

Now you have a tasty and nutritious meal that will keep you energized to forage all day long!

Fall’s here and you know what that means … PUMPKIN SPICE!

Last October, I created a pumpkin spice recipe inspired by Diablo III. This time around, I decided to focus on another Blizzard game.

With beta around the corner, it’s time for me to start cooking up some Overwatch inspired snacks. That’s right, we’re hopping aboard the Overwatch hype train! CHOO CHOO. But this time, the hype train is fueled by PUMPKIN PROTEIN COOKIES!

Cheers love, the cookies are here!

UNIT COMPOSITION

I love dinosaurs. Growing up, I had collected tons of dinosaur-themed items. So when I started playing Ark: Survival Evolved it felt like I was reliving part of my childhood!

DINOSAURS. DINOSAURS EVERYWHERE!

Needless to say, I kind of got a little obsessed. OK. Fine. I got A LOT obsessed.

I started collecting tons of dinosaurs. I started with Parasaurs, then moved onto Raptors, then T-Rexes and now. Spinosauruses. Our base currently has over 20 Spinosauruses.

I’ve named the ones I’ve tamed after K-pop stars because why not?

When I found out that Ark had a cooking system, I was so hyped! Obviously, I had to start making these recipes in real life. So here’s an easy Ark-inspired recipe to enjoy while you’re combing the beach slapping your “e” key for rocks!

UNIT COMPOSITION

salt

parsley

juice from 1 lemon

4 cloves of garlic

1/4 cup of olive oil

1/2 cup of cucumbers, sliced

1/2 cup of peas, cooked (either microwave or boil them)

1/2 white onion, chopped

1 avocado, sliced

BUILD ORDER

This recipe takes about 20 minutes to make. It makes about 2 servings.

OPENING

Place your avocado, onion and garlic in a food processor.

Add in the juice from one lemon.

Pulse until smooth.

MID GAME

Add in your cooked peas, cucumber and salt.

Add in a few sprigs of parsley and your olive oil. Pulse until smooth.

LATE GAME

Remove your mix from the food processor.

Using a mesh sieve, strain out the chunky bits from your gazpacho.

Garnish with parsley.

Eat!

GG WP!

I tried to make it as close as the in-game recipe as possible:

Close… I think?

Either way, Calien Soup will keep you cool as you doodle in your dossier:

According to my dossier, I should probably collect more spinos. Hmm.

Stay safe out there, survivors!

If you’re ever feeling hungry in World of Warcraft, you can always ask a friendly mage to conjure up some delicious refreshments. It’s like POOF, food just comes out of no where!

Unfortunately, I didn’t roll a mage, so I have to create brownies a different way: by scratch!

Whelplings love brownies!

These conjured mana brownies vary from its Azeroth-counterpart because they’re packed with protein and caffeine. Talk about a real mana boost!

UNIT COMPOSITION

1 egg*

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

2 scoops of Quest salted caramel protein powder

1 1/2 tablespoons of almond butter

2 tablespoons of raw agave

2 tablespoons of shredded coconut

1/2 cup of cocoa

1/2 cup of apple sauce

5 -6 oz of espresso

1 teaspoon of coconut oil

*Make this recipe vegan by substituting the egg for 1/4 cup of apple sauce!

BUILD ORDER

Prep time for this recipe takes about 15 minutes. Cook time is 20 minutes. This will make about 12 brownies.

Each brownie contains: 5g of Protein, 2g of Fat, 5g of Carbs and 2g of Fiber.

Recipe adapted from the Buff Dude’s Protein Brownies.

OPENING

In a large bowl, combine your salted caramel protein powder with your cocoa.

Add in your egg and vanilla extract. Stir until mostly combined.

Add in your almond butter, agave, and apple sauce. Stir.

MID GAME

Add in your espresso and stir. At this point, the batter should be at a “runny” consistency.

Add in your shredded coconut and stir. This will add some texture and thicken the batter.

LATE GAME

Pre-heat your oven to 350° F.

Place 1 teaspoon of coconut oil in a baking dish. Use a paper towel to rub the coconut oil inside the dish to thoroughly grease it.

Pour your batter into the baking dish.

Bake for about 20 minutes or until the brownie has baked through. You can test this with a toothpick — just poke the brownie with a toothpick; if the toothpick comes out clean, then you’re done!

Let the brownie cool for about 5 minutes. Then, cut it into even squares.

Eat!

GG WP!

Now you’ve got a delicious conjured mana brownie to enjoy! You can keep it all to yourself, or you can share it with some magical friends:

I’m sure those faerie dragons love protein! I mean, how do you think Brightwing got so strong? I bet she eats a TON of protein.

Happy adventuring!

——————————————————————————————————————————–

Selama Ashal’anore!

Everyone’s favorite vengeful Blood Elf mage, Kael’thas Sunstrider made his way into the Nexus a few months back. I’ve had a chance to play him several times in ranked, but honestly, I’m not super comfortable with his play style.

I’m more of a Jaina kind of gal (awwwwkward). However, Kael’thas is still a super fun hero to play! I mean, c’mon, FREE living bombs?! YOU GET A LIVING BOMB. AND YOU GET A LIVING BOMB. EVERYONE GETS A LIVING BOMB!

And it’s all thanks to those magical Verdant Spheres. Those Verdant Spheres are his signature accessory. A powerful fashion statement only worn by most haute blood mages!

I’ve immortalized these iconic artifacts in food form: edamame falafels! These falafels are packed full of nutrients which will surely keep you fueled during your quest for vengeance.

UNIT COMPOSITION

salt

pepper

1 cup of tahini sauce*

1 tablespoon of cumin

1 tablespoon of coriander

3 tablespoons of olive oil

5 – 7 cloves of garlic, diced

1/4 cup of cilantro, roughly chopped

1/2 cup of parsley, roughly chopped

1 1/2 cups of edamame, shelled

1 onion, roughly diced

2 jalapeños, diced

*To make homemade tahini sauce, combine: tahini paste, garlic, lemon juice, water and salt.

BUILD ORDER

Prep time for this recipe is roughly 15 minutes. Cook time is about 35 minutes. This makes about 3 servings (about 3 falafels each).

OPENING

Put your onion, edamame, onion, cilantro, 1 jalapeño, and 1/4 cup of parsley in a food processor.

Add in your salt, pepper, cumin, and coriander.

Drizzle in 2 tablespoons of olive oil and pulse to combine.

Continue until it forms a smooth paste.

Remove and set aside.

MID GAME

Set your oven to 375° F.

Line a pan or baking dish with parchment paper.

Using a spoon, scoop out golf ball sized balls of the falafel dough. Roughly shape them into a sphere and drop them onto the parchment paper. Use a butter knife to smooth out the balls.

Bake for 35 minutes or crispy. In order to keep them green, I decided not to flip them.

LATE GAME

Place tahini sauce, jalapeño pepper, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and your remaining parsley in a food processor.

Process until it’s a smooth paste.

Dip a spoon in the sauce and place the back of the spoon against a plate. Drag the spoon up and lift carefully to create a smear affect (or the flame for the verdant spheres).

Place one of the falafels on top of the sauce.

OPTIONAL: Sprinkle parsley over the plate.

Eat!

GG WP!

Now you can embrace AND eat the power of Verdant Spheres! ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ﾉ GLORY TO THE SIN’DOREI! ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ﾉ

The Raven Lord demands tribute… in the form of tasty appetizers!

I have been playing a ton of Heroes of the Storm lately. I’ve been trying to climb the ladder to finally hit Rank 1. Recently, I have been fortunate enough snag Sylvanas in draft. AW YISS BANSHEE QUEEN.

I have no time for games!

I am totally loving Sylvanas’ play style. It’s an awesome feeling to be fighting someone and then throw out your “E” to teleport when the fight gets too rough.

One of the battlegrounds I enjoy playing is the Cursed Hollow. On this map, the goal is to collect three tributes for the malevolent Raven Lord. He’s totally a big jerk.

There’s usually a ton of fighting when these tributes pop up. And that’s what I absolutely love about this map — the team fights!

Hahaha, big head mode!

Since the Raven Lord demand tribute… We better start cooking!

UNIT COMPOSITION

salt

2 tablespoons of butter

4 – 5 cloves of garlic, grated

1 egg, mixed

1/3 cup of milk

1/3 cup of shredded parmesan cheese

1 lb of purple sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into quarters

BUILD ORDER

Prep time for this dish takes about 30 minutes. Cook time takes 20 minutes for boiling the potatoes, and an additional 12 minutes for baking. This makes 4 servings (about 8 tributes).

OPENING

After peeling and cutting your sweet potatoes, place them in a pot of large water.

Bring that pot of water to boil and cook the sweet potatoes for about 20 minutes or until soft. Then drain the sweet potatoes and return them to the pot.

Add in your salt, cheese, butter, garlic and milk. Use a potato masher to combine the ingredients.

Transfer the mashed sweet potatoes to a bowl.

Add in your egg and stir to combine.

MID GAME

Place the sweet potato mixture in a piping bag.

Lay a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet.

Begin piping out the shape of the raven lord tributes. Start with an oval, and then a pointed tip for the beak.

Then, pipe out the wings.

Use a butter knife to smooth out the entire shape. Use the edge of the butter knife to create the eyes by gently pressing down at an angle.

Continue making the tributes until you run out of sweet potato mixture.

LATE GAME

Set your oven to 350° F.

Let your tributes bake for about 12 minutes. Remove and let cool.

Eat!

GG WP, Heroes!

Please note that eating three of these tributes will not cause the Raven Lord to curse your enemies. However, these are delicious and can satisfy a rumbling tummy. MY BELLY DEMANDS TRIBUTE.

By the way, I have set up a Patreon! I have been posting previews of upcoming blog post there, so if you’re interested, please check it out.

So I finally bit the bullet after years and years of saying “no” … I installed World of WarCraft for the first time a few days ago with some encouragement (a.k.a. friendly threats) from the lovely and amazing Kymba.

She has used her special powers of persuasion to not only get me to join WoW, but to also get my boyfriend to reactivate his account. Let me reiterate — this is my first time EVER playing WoW. As a result, I have no idea what I’m doing. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’m not new to MMOS, but I am TEN YEARS of content behind in WoW. I’ve got a lot of catching up to do! By catching up, I mean I have to go collect ALL OF THE MOUNTS I CAN!

This isn’t my first World of Warcraft recipe — I’ve actually made one before with guidance from Sha of Happiness — but this is my first WoW recipe as an official WoW player.

Kymba had suggested that I try tackling the Blood of Mannoroth as my first solo Warcraft recipe. The Blood of Mannoroth is an integral part of the lore of Warcraft, so it seemed fitting to turn it into a recipe!

UNIT COMPOSITION

salt

pepper

1 teaspoon of olive oil

cup of spinach

1 1/2 cups of broccoli, chopped

1 1/2 cups of tofu

2 cups of almond milk

1/2 of an onion, diced

5 cloves of garlic, roughly chopped

2 leeks, roughly chopped

You will be blending all of the ingredients together, so you don’t have to cut them perfectly!

BUILD ORDER

Prep time for this recipe will take roughly 45 minutes. Cook time for this will be roughly 1 hour. This recipe makes about 4-6 servings.

OPENING

Preheat your oven to 375°.

Place your garlic, onion, broccoli, and leeks on a roasting pan. Season your vegetables with salt and pepper.

Drizzle the olive oil through the vegetables. Rub the olive oil through the vegetables.

Roast for about 45 minutes, stirring the vegetables to prevent burning every 10 minutes.

MID GAME

Remove your vegetables from the oven and place them in a pot.

Add in half of your almond milk and your spinach.

Heat until the spinach has wilted.

Take a hand blender, and blend the vegetables until smooth

LATE GAME

Add in your tofu and remaining almond milk. Continue to blend until smooth.

At this point, if the bisque is still too thick, you may need to add in additional almond milk or water.

OPTIONAL: If you want to make a smooth bisque, you will need run the bisque through a sieve to separate the solids from the smooth bisque. Once you have the additional solids, blend them once more and re-add them to the bisque. Continue this step until smooth. This may take an additional 20+ minutes.

Bring the bisque back up to medium heat.

Eat!

And that’s it, you’re done! GG WP!

Now, drinking this vegan Blood of Mannoroth may not give you blood lust or cause you to become a minion of the Burning Legion, but it is good for your health! Since it’s full of delicious green vegetables, this creamy bisque is both delicious and nutritious. A great start to your New Year!

Hopefully I’ll catch you in Draenor! If not, maybe we’ll clash swords (or in my case, dinosaurs?) in the Arena. HAPPY HUNTING!
