well played ravioli [whole wheat turkey ravioli]

Welcome to my Inn! — err, kitchen. As many you may already know, I have a terrible and soul crushing obsession withHearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.I JUST CAN’T STOP, OK?

I’ve made a few Hearthstonein the past, such as Hearthscones and The Polenta Coin, but it has been a while since my last Hearthstone recipe. But, I’m here to fix that because…

…I’ll see myself out.

This recipe is extra healthy as it combines whole wheat flour, lean turkey and Quest protein powder. We’re all ’bout those GAINS!

Whole wheat causes the dough to be much more denser, so you will want to roll the pasta sheets as thin as possible.

  1. salt
  2. pepper
  3. 1 1/2 scoops of Quest protein powder
  4. 1 cup of water
  5. 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  6. 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  7. 2 sprigs of rosemary
  8. 6cloves of garlic, sliced
  9. 1/2 onion, diced
  10. 3 eggs
  11. 1 cup of spinach
  12. 1 1/2 cups of ricotta cheese
  13. 1/4lb of ground turkey

Prep time for this recipe is about 40 minutes. Cook time is about 25 minutes. This will make 3servings (3 large raviolis). There may be some left over filling.

Each serving will contain about ~22gof protein.

  1. Place your whole wheat flour and 1 scoop of protein powder on a flat and flour-dusted surface.
  2. Make an indent and crack your eggs.Using a fork, mix the eggs. Once the eggs have been mixed, add in the water and begin slowly incorporating the flour into the liquid to create the dough.
  3. Fold the dough in on itself until you can create a large dough ball. Cover the dough with a slightly damp towel. Allow the dough to rest for about 30 minutes. During this time, prepare the turkey filling.

  1. Seta large skillet on high heat. Add in 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  2. Saute 2 cloves of garlic and your chopped onion.
  3. Add in your ground turkey. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add in your spinach.
  5. Once the turkey has cooked, remove it from the heat and place in a large bowl. Allow the mix to cool for about 10 minutes.
  6. Add in your ricotta cheese and remaining protein powder. Stir to combine thoroughly.blog_wellplayedravioli_mix

  1. To prepare your pasta sheets, break your dough into four sections.Using a rolling pin (dusted with flour), roll your dough sections into sheets small enough to fit through your pasta machine. Dust your pasta machine with flour. You will want your pasta rolled out on the thinnest setting possible.
  2. Once your pasta has rolled out, cut out circles (I used a 4″ cookie cutter).
  3. Cut out 4 long triangles and 4 short triangles. This is to create the points of the Hearthstone star.
  4. Place the triangles in alternating fashion on top of a circle. Place about a tablespoon of filling in the center of the circle.
  5. Place another circle of dough over the filling and crimp the edges together. Create the Hearthstone logo using a thin strand of dough.
  6. Set a pot of water to boil and season with salt. Cook your raviolis for about 5 minutes and remove.
  7. While your raviolis are cooking, prepare your sauce by combining your remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil, garlic and rosemary in a hot pan. Allow the garlic to brown. Remove from heat and set aside.
  8. Plate your ravioli. Then, drizzle your rosemary olive oil sauce over the ravioli. Make sure to place some toasted garlic over the ravioli.
  9. Garnish your plate with rosemary sprigs.
  10. Eat!

treasure goblin bags [curried turkey stuffed wontons]

The elusive Treasure Goblin and his big ol’ bag of presents is a very welcomed sight to the adventuring Nephalem. However, this is not ideal when he scampers off into a group of angry demons.Whhyyy I just wanted loot!

Wait! Come back!

When you eventually catch up to the little bugger and mug him of all his goods, you might be lucky enough to get a Legendary! WORTH IT.

Recently, I came across the all-mighty PUZZLE RING. It was a minor upgrade from my old ring, but more importantly, it gave me a faithful Treasure Goblin side kick. I’ve affectionately named himGibbles, because reasons.

With the Puzzle Ring equipped, your Treasure Goblin companion will eagerly pick up common items. When he picks up 13 commons, he’ll drop a rare or legendary item.

This has caused me to be come fairly obsessive when it’s comes to feeding my Treasure Goblin. I have died many times desperately trying to rush through mobs in order to get to an Armor Rack just so I could get another common item.I have definitely gotten many more legendaries farming normally than I have trying to feed my Treasure Goblin…. Maybe I should re-evaluate this strategy.Hmm…

Farming for legendaries does make me quite hungry, and you definitely can’t go hunting loot on an empty stomach. So, I’ve devised a GLORIOUS appetizer that is perfect for your next legendary adventure: Treasure Goblin Bags! These bags are stuffed with the nutrients you need to keep slayin’ demons.

Since my Treasure Goblin buddy, Gibbles, only exists in-game, I’ve enlisted the help of Lewt the Papercraft Treasure Goblin to be my trusty sous chef for the day.
